Simply Scored Tool

With the launch of the new Simply Scored scoring tool/board from the 1st of May 2012, I just know this is one of those products that I will be using on a daily basis and I can confirm that I am a massive fan of it already!!!

The Simply scored scoring Tool comes with a base that fits card and paper stock up to 30.5cm x 30.5cm and features score tracks every 3.2mm.  Then you have the option of adding a Metric Scoring plate with the left side of the plate includes scoring tracks every 1cm and the right side of the plate scoring tracks every 5mm.  Our place markers (3 included) let you quickly mark your scoring points for fast, easy and flawless scoring.  A stylus with ergonomic style and comfort grip.  High quality metal tips on both ends come in two sizes, so you can choose the size of your score lines.  There is a storage compartment to store your place markers, bone folder and/or stylus.

I will now demonstrate how I made a Rosette that I can use as a feature on a card or any other 3D project.

Firstly I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (Twitterpated) measuring 3 x 30.5cm and scored this at every second scoring track on the base plate

I continued this right to the end of the piece of DSP (Designer Series Paper) and then started folding it concertina style/zig-zag style as shown below

Continuing this until the end of the strip of DSP

I then decided on a brad, a piece of ribbon and punched a circle of red card and pierced a hole in the centre of the card and added some Tombo Glue to the circle and ends of the 'zig-zag' strip of paper

The ends of the 'zig-zag' strip of DSP was then stuck together and left to dry for a few seconds

I then pressed the top part together and downwards over the punched circle making sure the whole I pierced in the circle was in the centre and held it there for a minute to give the glue time to dry

I then took my chosen piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, made a few swirls and used an Antique Brad to secure the whole lot together

Completing and adding it to the various other examples I've made using the Simply Scored tool.  This is a real fun project and anyone can make one.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, one of many to come :-)

And now Stampin' Up has included the Diagonal plate too, which enables you to make your own envelopes!!!  Even more exciting news.
